Christmas Day

Lucas was very excited about getting an IPOD for Christmas! Brayden was pretty excited about everything but most excited about the Webkins he got from grandma and grandpa. Addison was trying out the wiggle car. She and Brayden both got one for Christmas. Grandma and Grandpa Caywood spent the day with us today. We are off to the other grandparents tomorrow.

Visit from California

Twas the night before Christmas and all thru the house not a child was sleeping! Can you see the excitement on their faces! John and Margerie came out from California to visit for the Holidays. They braved the bad weather to get here. They were able to come see us on Christmas eve. We were lucky to be able to spend some time with them and Jessica.

Brayden and Addy putting the last star on the advent calendar. Addy wasn't quite tall enough this year, but you can bet next year she'll be lending more than just moral support!

Addison getting ready for Christmas

Addison let mommy take a picture of her before church. Mommy thinks she looks beautiful! Every morning we sit in front of mommies mirror and fix her hair. She always says, "I'm a pretty girl". If dad is still home she has to show daddy how pretty she is. She loves to follow Brayden around. He does quite well with her most of the time. Sometimes he likes to play alone. She has done well staying out of the presents this year but likes to play with the ornaments on the tree. She got an Elmo ornament this year.

This is Lucas posing for his choir concert.

Mommy wanted to get some pictures of Addison in front of the Christmas tree.

This is Lucas looking handsome before his band concert. Lucas plays the trumpet. Grandma and Grandpa Caywood were able to come see him play. They are a pretty amazing band.

When you ask Addison to take a picture she runs to the window. For some reason that is her favorite place to take a picture. Speaking of favorites, she loves Elmo and her Elmo shirts! She will be having a Elmo birthday party this January.

Family Photos

Here are some family photos that were recently taken. Holli does such a nice job. Tough getting all 3 kids to smile at the same time, but thought they turned out really good.

Lucas's First Deer!!

Well, it was a very exciting day for both Lucas and I. Lucas shot his first deer yesterday and I was lucky enough to be sitting right next to him when he took the shot. And by the way, it only took one shot. (Taught him everything he knows!) It was about 70 yards away. Wasn't a monster deer, but was a great one for his first.
It's pretty neat for a dad to be part of a special event like this. One he'll never forget about.
Needless to say, he was on cloud nine for the rest of the day. Made the long hours out in the cold wind all worth it!

Halloween Fun!!

Well, Addy had her first haircut today and did remarkably well! Muhommad is one of our great friends from church and did a great job with her. She just looked at herself in the mirror the whole time and said "I pretty"

Addy just LOVES Brayden. He's not to fond of having her follow him like a puppy dog, but when he does let her play with him, she loves it. Fun times on the rocking horse.

Mom and Dad stopped by to see the kids before we headed out to trick or treat.

Brandi with the two characters. Lucas was too old this year to dress up.
What a COOL pumkin!

The boys and I had a good time carving pumkins!

Brayden did a good job carving his pumkin

Addy and Brayden with a couple good friends of ours that stopped by before heading out.

We stopped the week prior to pick out pumkins. Kids had a hard time trying to pick the "perfect" one.

Awe mom, do we have to take another picture!?

Superman and Dorothy! Even had the ruby slippers!

Harvest Festival

Yesterday one of our good friend's little girls turned 1. They had a party in Turon where they have a Harvest Festival Farm. This was the first time we'd been there, but was a very neat set up that they had. They had a ton of different activities for the kids to do. As you can see the kid's tried there hand at roping. They roped the "calf" several times. Good thing he didn't move too much! They had little train rides, animal farms, hay loft slides, and more. They also had an old fire truck that they had converted into a massive pumpkin cannon. This thing launched pumkins over a half mile. I've never seen a pumkin launched that far before. Kids thought that was pretty cool. They had to take a quick break to re-hydrate. Good thing big brother was there to provide the sugar!

They had a hayrack ride out to a very large pumkin patch. Unfortunately a Kansas hailstorm came thru in early June and wiped out a good chunk of there pumkin crop. Kids still had a blast looking.
Awe, the two beautiful women in my life!!

After a fun evening, they had gift opening and of course cupcakes. Addy made quick work of the frosting. Didn't care too much about the actual cake portion.

Buhler Frolic

The Prairie Hills Middle school band marched for the first time at the Buhler Frolic. They sound very impressive for a junior high band. Of course when you have 200 kids in the band there is a lot you can do. The Buhler band program is very strong. For the most part, Lucas enjoy's band. Just doesn't like all the practice time.
Lucas was insistent that we ride the motorcycle in the parade. Brayden thought it was pretty cool to ride with all of the other motorcycles. There was quite a turn out for the parade.

Color Watching

It was pretty hilarious this evening. We're sitting here watching monday night football and Brayden decides he wanted to color. Addy pretty much wants to do everything that Brayden does and is usually right in the middle of things. But this evening she stood in front of him for about 15 minutes straight (which is an eternity for her) and watched him color. She was evening pointing out where she wanted him to color next. Was a pretty cute moment.
She was giving advice here! Too funny!
